12348394_10208179716316429_1726536427_nLately, I’ve been bombarded by liberals on social media telling me to check my privilege. They constantly say that, as a white person, I have a natural head-start on people of other races. But I have one question for them: if white privilege is real, why did my wife Catherine leave me?

I’m well aware of what the statistics say: As a white male I have a greater chance of being hired for a job compared to people from other racial and gender groups with identical qualifications. What those statistics don’t show you is that Catherine, the woman who said she’d spend the rest of her life with me, won’t be here for me anymore.

And trust me, I know that unarmed black people are shot by police at disproportionate rates compared to white people. I also know that my wife, the center of my universe for 23 years, is probably in the arms of Craig from human resources right at this very moment.

I’m also aware that 2/3rds of people imprisoned in the United States are people of color. Personally, I haven’t been to prison, but I have had Catherine rip the heart out of my chest and stomp on it, which is easily just as bad.

And I’ll be the first to admit that, statistically speaking, I’m likely to make more money throughout my lifetime than a person of color. I’ll also be the first to admit that I miss my wife Catherine who I’d give anything to have back in my life.

Jesus Christ, I just want you back.
