BOONE, NC– Formal complaints are being filed against a Boone man who reportedly just parks his jeep wherever. Residents of hippie hill were the latest victims as they woke up to a curious sight this morning when local man Trent “Gearshift” Spencer had decided to park his forest green, 2015 Jeep Rubicon at a 70 degree angle on the beloved so-called “Hill.”

Witnesses on the scene reported that this isn’t the first time they had seen Spencer’s all-terrain vehicle parked somewhere inconvenient and illegal around town.

“Yeah I’ve seen that car before,” said eyewitness Elaine Wright. “Last time I saw it, it was parked half on the sidewalk and half in the road outside FootSloggers. The rearview mirror was actually inside the store.”

According to sources, Spencer acquired his Jeep fairly recently and is still getting used to his newfound liberties on the road.

“Before I moved here, I had heard about how parking in Boone is kind of a pain,” said Spencer  as he gestured towards his vehicle parked on Sanford Mall next to his slackline “So that’s why I bought my girl over there.”

Spencer went on to say that the use of the word “car” should be avoided in reference to Jeeps as they are “in a vehicle class of their own” and also that he absolutely needs his Jeep for his lifestyle which includes hiking sometimes.

At press time, “Gearshift” was in the process of being rescued from his parking spot on the roof of the university library.
